TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University-Texarkana men's soccer team showed resilience and late-game grit on Saturday, rallying from a two-goal deficit to secure a thrilling 3-3 draw against Paul Quinn at Judy Kelley Morgan Field.
The Eagles opened the scoring early when Aaron Bocanegra found the net in the 9th minute off a crisp assist from Ali Akram. Paul Quinn responded with a flurry in the second half, netting three straight goals between the 55th and 76th minutes to take a 3-1 advantage.
Refusing to fold, A&M-Texarkana stormed back in the closing moments. John Candelo struck twice in a three-minute span—his first in the 84th minute from Damilare Origunloye, and the equalizer in the 86th minute assisted by Oscar Mejia and Camilo Nicolas.
Goalkeeper Oliver Gregory made six saves to keep the Eagles within striking distance, while the offense generated consistent pressure with a 24-19 advantage in shots, including 17 on target.
The Eagles showed strong second-half urgency to earn the final result.
Men's Soccer now sits at 1-2-4 on the season and will look to build on the momentum in their next outing against the Saints of OLLU in San Antonio on Thursday, September 25 at 3 p.m.
