GAME 1 — Eagles 14, Lyon 1 (7 innings)
A&M-Texarkana jumped on the hosts early, putting up five runs in the first frame, three more in the second and a pair in both the third and fourth before finishing with two more in the sixth. The Eagles led 12-0 before Lyon got on the scoreboard with its lone run in the fourth.
The Eagles smashed their way to 15 hits, including seven doubles, and got three-hit games from Dakota Leopold and Julian Macias. Giancarlo Mijares, Brandon Riley, Eric Spencer and Marzavin Riles each had two hits. Dylan Simmons, Leopold and Macias each drove in three runs.
Nathan Hunter (2-1) earned the mound victory, striking out six over 3.2 while giving up just three hits and one run. Anthony Galindo and Saneil Patel combined for 3.1 innings of shutout relief, allowing just three hits with three strikeouts.

GAME 2 — Eagles 4, Lyon 1
The Scots kept the Eagle bats from breaking open the second game, holding the visitors to just four hits, but they couldn't keep the Eagles from working the count to earn seven walks and steal three bases, helping runners get into scoring position for timely hits.
With Lyon leading 1-0 in the fifth, Macias singled to bring home Riley and Spencer and take the lead for good. In the sixth, they added a run when Leopold scored following a pickoff at first. Luke Hyzdu scored Riley on a sac fly in the seventh.
Six Eagle pitchers combined to limit the Scots to one run on seven hits. Gage Mason (2-2) got credit for the win thanks to two scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Blake Taylor started and gave up just two hits and no runs.

The Eagles are back home this weekend for a Saturday doubleheader against Science and Arts of Oklahoma (13-11) at Dobson Field. The two teams met earlier this season with the Eagles taking a 6-5 win over the Drovers during the Cajun Collision in Sterlington, La. In that game, USAO led 5-0 before the Eagles scored six runs in the final inning to steal the win.
The Saturday doubleheader begins at 12 pm.
