Eagles sweep conference doubleheader against Texas College
The Eagle baseball team got back in the win column Saturday, sweeping a conference doubleheader against Texas College at Dobson Field.

The Eagle baseball team got back in the win column Saturday, sweeping a conference doubleheader against Texas College at Dobson Field. The series concludes today with a 1 p.m. contest at The Dob.
A&M-Texarkana (8-10 overall, 5-3 RRAC) opened the doubleheader with a 10-1 win, powered by home runs by Kyle McMullen and Masashi Takegama (two hits, five RBI), as well as Luke Hyzdu (two RBI). Four pitchers combined to hold the Steers to just one run and four hits while racking up nine strikeouts.
The Eagles opened the scoring on Takegama's three-run double in the first, then went ahead 7-1 when Takegama homered on the fifth. McMullen's solo shot in the sixth rounded out the scoring.
In the second game, the Eagles pounded out 18 hits, including seven doubles, three triples and a home run. Giancarlo Mijares went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored. Jonathan Rios went 3-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI and three runs scored.
Marzavin Riles had a monster day with a home run, a double and finishing 3-for-4 with six RBI and three runs scored. Brandon Riley tripled twice and drove in a pair.
Collin Fenili earned the win and three others pitched in relief to combine on the shutout.
