TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's soccer team continued their strong conference play with a dominant 7-0 victory over Texas College on Saturday afternoon at Judy Kelley Morgan Field.
The Eagles wasted no time getting on the board, with Ava Axtle netting the opener in just the 3rd minute off an assist from Ziah Zackry. Catherine Joyce doubled the lead moments later before Zackry and Brooklyn Lattier added two more goals to give TAMUT a commanding 4-0 lead heading into halftime.
A&M-Texarkana carried that momentum into the second half as Axtle tallied her second goal of the day in the 55th minute. Lattier followed with another strike just four minutes later, and Delani Chappell capped off the scoring with a goal assisted by Alison Rosas in the 74th minute.
Women's Soccer dominated every phase of the match, outshooting the Steers 64-1 and earning 13 corner kicks while not allowing a single one. Goalkeeper Layla Anaya recorded the shutout, needing just one save to secure her fifth win of the season.
The victory improves the Eagles to 11-4-2 overall and 6-3-1 in RRAC play. Women's Soccer will return to action on Saturday, November 1, hosting Jarvis Christian University on Judy Kelley Morgan Field for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
