PINEVILLE, La.— Texas A&M University–Texarkana dropped a pair of games at the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championship Tournament in Pineville, Louisiana, bringing their conference postseason run to a close.
The Eagles (39-10), seeded third, opened the double-elimination tournament against No. 6 seed Louisiana Christian before facing No. 2 seed LSU Alexandria. Their final game came in a win-or-go-home matchup with Texas A&M–San Antonio in the consolation bracket.
Game 1: Texas A&M–Texarkana 10, Louisiana Christian 2
The Eagles opened strong, plating a run in the second inning on a double by catcher Skyler Martin. Baylee Stautzenberger added an RBI single in the third to extend the lead to 2-0. Louisiana Christian responded in the fourth, tying the game at 2-2 after capitalizing on a Texarkana error.
TAMUT quickly regained control with a five-run fourth inning. Kasen Morkisch delivered the big blow with a two-run single on an 0-2 count. The Eagles added three more runs in the fifth to secure a run-rule victory and advance.
Alexis Snyder earned the win, allowing just two hits and two runs over four innings, with two strikeouts and five walks.
At the plate, the Eagles totaled 13 hits. Morkisch and Grace Cantu each drove in three runs, while Madison Dingman swiped three bases.
Game 2: LSU Alexandria 9, Texas A&M–Texarkana 5
Texarkana struck first in the opening inning as Dingman scored on a sacrifice fly, but LSUA answered quickly with a two-run homer in the bottom half. The Generals followed with a five-run second inning, pushing the lead to 7-1.
TAMUT scored again in the fifth, but LSUA responded, and the Eagles entered the final inning trailing 9-2. Morkisch sparked a late rally with a three-run home run in the seventh, but it wasn't enough as the Generals held on for the win.
Morkisch and Dingman each tallied two hits, with Dingman stealing two more bases.
Game 3: Texas A&M–San Antonio 4, Texas A&M–Texarkana 3
Facing elimination, the Eagles met Texas A&M–San Antonio on Friday afternoon. The Jaguars struck early with two runs in the first before storms postponed the game. Play resumed Saturday morning in the bottom of the first.
TAMUSA added two more runs in the third on a sacrifice bunt and a single, extending the lead to 4-0. Texarkana responded behind Stautzenberger, who went 2-for-4 and drove in all three Eagle runs. Dingman also collected two hits.

Texas A&M–Texarkana now awaits the NAIA Softball National Championship Selection Show, scheduled for May 7 at 5 p.m., with hopes of earning an at-large bid to continue their postseason run.
