TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University-Texarkana softball team hosted Texas College in their final Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) regular season doubleheader. The Eagles swept the Steers, dominating game one with an 8-0 run-rule victory and edging out game two 6-5. With the sweep, TAMUT improved to 22-4 in conference play, securing a third-place finish in the regular season standings.
Game 1: Eagles 8, Steers 0
The Eagles wasted no time taking control, plating five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Kasen Morkisch and Baylee Stautzenberger each delivered RBI singles before Macey Cutsinger capped off the inning with an inside-the-park home run. Cutsinger added another RBI in the third with a sacrifice fly, extending the lead to 6-0. TAMUT tacked on two more runs in the fourth and held the Steers scoreless in the fifth to end the game by run rule.
Rylee Glenn earned her 15th win of the season, pitching four shutout innings while allowing just two hits, striking out eight, and walking one. Morgan Benge came in for the final inning in relief, preserving the shutout with a hitless frame and one strikeout.
Cutsinger led the Eagles at the plate, driving in three runs and going a perfect 2-for-2. Morkisch, Stautzenberger, Madison Dingman, and Neveah Courville each contributed a hit, and the Eagles swiped three bases in the game.
Game 2: Eagles 6, Steers 5
After a lopsided first game, Texas College came out with renewed energy in the second matchup, pushing the Eagles to the brink. TAMUT jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but the Steers chipped away, scoring twice in the second and adding three more in the sixth to make it a one-run game. A clutch relief effort from Mia Perez helped the Eagles hold on for a narrow 6-5 win.
Alexis Snyder earned the win, tossing five and two-thirds innings while allowing six hits and five runs (three earned), with one strikeout and two walks. Perez closed out the game with one and one-third scoreless innings.
Kaitlyn Cabral led the Eagles offensively, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Brooke Usrey and Presley Humphrey also had multiple hits in the game.

With the regular season wrapped up, the Eagles now turn their attention to the postseason. TAMUT will enter the RRAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed. The full bracket and schedule are expected to be released soon by the Red River Athletic Conference.
