HOBBS, N.M. – The Texas A&M University-Texarkana softball team embarked on their longest road trip within the Red River Athletic Conference, traveling to Hobbs, New Mexico, this past weekend. The Eagles dominated the Mustangs and secured another conference sweep, improving to 8-2 in league play.
Game 1: USW 2, TAMUT 13
The Eagles took control early, scoring five runs on four hits in the top of the first inning. The Mustangs answered with one run in the bottom of the inning, but Rylee Glenn responded by striking out the final batter to end the threat. TAMUT added two more runs in the second and exploded for five runs on six hits in the third, taking a commanding 12-1 lead heading into the fourth. Both teams scored a run in the fourth, and the Eagles sealed the victory with a scoreless fifth inning, ultimately run-ruling the Mustangs 13-2.
Madison Dingman had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two singles and a triple, alongside teammate Brooke Usrey, who also led the Eagles with three RBIs. Macey Cutsinger swiped three bases in the win. In the circle, Glenn earned the victory, allowing only two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one.
Game 2: USW 0, TAMUT 9
Once again, the Eagles jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the top of the first. After a few scoreless innings, TAMUT's offense exploded in the fifth, putting up seven runs on five hits, including three singles and a triple. The Eagles went ahead 9-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth and held the Mustangs scoreless to end the game early via run rule.
Mia Perez started in the circle for TAMUT, surrendering just two hits and no runs over four innings. Morgan Benge came in for relief, allowing only one hit and striking out one in the final inning. The Eagles tallied 14 hits in the game, with Dingman once again leading the charge, going 3-for-4 from the leadoff spot.

The Eagles will host the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats this coming weekend at Bramlett Field in Spring Lake Park, Texarkana, Texas. First pitch is set for Saturday, March 22, at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
