TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's basketball team dropped a tightly contested matchup Thursday night, falling 65–60 to Texas Wesleyan at the Patterson Student Center. The game featured 12 lead changes and remained within single digits for all 40 minutes.
The Eagles trailed 31–27 at halftime after holding the Rams to 39% shooting in the opening period. TAMUT briefly moved in front early in the second half, but Texas Wesleyan converted key second-chance opportunities down the stretch and finished with a 44–37 rebounding advantage to close out the five-point win.
Deovaunta Williams led the Eagles with 20 points, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, along with five rebounds and two steals.
Jason Bush Jr. recorded a double-double off the bench, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes.
Daryl Houston added 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists, while Jarren Cook provided eight points and seven boards.
TAMUT finished the night shooting 40% from the field and 31.6% from three, while the Rams held a 15–9 advantage in second-chance points.
A&M–Texarkana will return to action on Wednesday, November 20, opening Red River Athletic Conference play on the road at LSU Shreveport. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
