Hyzdu, Eagles power past Jarvis to finish three-game sweep

The Eagles (17-16 overall, 11-7 RRAC) went scoreless for the first five innings before scoring two in the sixth, one in the seventh and another pair in the eighth. Gage Mason started and pitched 4.2 innings, striking out six and allowing just four hits and one run. Nathan Hunter (3-1) entered and tossed 3.1 innings of shutout relief to earn the win.
Eric Spencer finished with two hits and drove in a run, Dakota Leopold had three hits and Hyzdu drove in three runs to support the Eagle pitching, which struck out 12 batters in the game.
The Eagles are now tied for fifth in the RRAC with UH-Victoria and improved to 12-4 at home this season.
A&M-Texarkana will play its next 11 contests on the road, starting with a three-game conference series April 7-8 in Austin against Huston-Tillotson (9-22, 6-12). Game 1 is slated for 2 pm Friday with a Saturday doubleheader to begin at 12 pm.
