Loya named Female Runner of the Week by Red River Athletic Conference
A&M-Texarkana freshman Ana Ximena Loya was the top NAIA finisher during last weekend’s Arturo Barrios Invitational, a meet consisting mainly of NCAA Division I runners, and her effort earned her first RRAC Runner of the Week Award, announced Tuesday.

Loya, a Pharr, Texas native, turned in a time of 24:12.7 in the women's 6K race in College Station and placed 359th overall. But her time not only led the Eagles, but all competitors from the same level.
Loya finished 13th at the Nicholls State Invitational two weeks ago to help the Eagles finish third in the team standings, and she finished second in her first collegiate race in Longview to help the team take the overall title at the Nicole Leman Invitational on Sept. 2.
