Women's Cross Country Fares Well In Lumberjack Invitational
Nacogdoches, Texas — The Texas A&M-Texarkana women's cross country team competed at the SFA Lumberjack Invitational on Saturday, grabbing a sixth-place finish with 157 points.
"The team did great today on a very hot and humid day," said coach Natnael Amare. "I am very proud of the girls' progress and the work that's being put in."
The Eagles were led by Mercy Kimaiyo, who clocked in at 19:09.6 for 27th in the 5k. Naomy Lagat ran 19:31.9 placing her 32nd. Classmate Anna Vela fought her way to a 40th place finish with a time of 20:31.0 before fellow Eagles Kassidy Villalobos 45th - 21:13.7, Angelique Colon 49th - 22:14.5, Ana Liset Quintana 51st - 22:37.1, and Skyler Brannan 56th - 25:22.2 respectively.

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 23, when they visit Baton Rouge, LA, for the LSU Invitational hosted by Louisiana State University.
