Paulina Dobreva Signs Professional Contract with Volley Ball Pays Viennois
TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University–Texarkana right-side hitter Paulina Dobreva is officially headed to the professional ranks, signing a contract with Volley Ball Pays Viennois, a professional volleyball club based in Vienne, France, following a dominant senior campaign that helped lead the Eagles to Red River Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships, as well as the program's first-ever appearance at the NAIA National Championship.
A native of Madrid, Spain, Dobreva established herself as one of the nation's premier right-side hitters during the 2025 season. She appeared in 32 matches and 113 sets, recording 406 kills (3.59 per set), a .226 hitting percentage, 418 digs (3.70 per set), and 56 service aces.
"I am truly excited to begin this new chapter, as it represents the fulfillment of a long-held dream and a meaningful step forward in my volleyball career," said Dobreva. "I am deeply grateful to those who challenged me to push beyond my limits and to the process of building both character and resilience on and off the court."
Dobreva played a pivotal role in one of the most successful seasons in program history, earning an impressive list of postseason accolades, including:
- RRAC Player of the Year
- RRAC Attacker of the Year
- RRAC First Team All-Conference
- AVCA South Central Region Player of the Year
- AVCA South Central Region First Team All-Region
- NAIA Third Team All-American
- AVCA NAIA Third Team All-American
With her professional signing, Dobreva becomes the first player in Texas A&M–Texarkana Volleyball history to sign a professional contract.

"She has left such a dominant and inspiring legacy here at TAMUT Volleyball as a team captain, AVCA and NAIA All-American, All-Region selection, South Central Region Player of the Year, RRAC Player of the Year, Attacker of the Year, and much more. Halford added that Dobreva's impact extends well beyond her accomplishments on the court.
"This new team is gaining a phenomenal player, but an even better teammate and person," Halford said. "We will all miss her deeply."
As she begins her professional career in France, Dobreva remains focused on continued growth and development while helping her new club compete at a high level.
"As I embrace this new opportunity, I remain fully committed to my growth and development," Dobreva said. "I am confident that I will give my best at all times and hope it contributes to the success of the team."
