Jordan Earns All-American Honors as Four Eagles Compete at NAIA Indoor Nationals
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana track & field team was represented by four student-athletes at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, held in Gainesville.
The highlight of the meet came from Desroy Jordan in the men's 400m dash. Jordan placed second in his preliminary heat with a time of 47.08 to qualify for the finals. In the championship race, Jordan recorded a personal-best time of 47.04 to finish fourth overall, earning All-American honors for his performance.
In the field events, Darlington Onsarigo represented the Eagles in the men's triple jump, finishing 12th in the nation with a mark of 14.64 meters.
On the women's side, Vinae Edwards competed in the women's triple jump against a national field, while Ariyah Ford represented TAMUT in the women's shot put, finishing 18th overall with a throw of 11.67 meters.
The national championship meet capped off a strong first official indoor track & field season for the Eagles, a year that saw multiple school records established and new standards set as the program continues to build for the future.
