Women’s Tennis Battles Past OUAZ, Sweeps Dallas
ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's tennis team split a pair of matches in Arlington, earning a 4-3 victory over OUAZ before closing the day with a dominant 7-0 sweep of the University of Dallas.
The Eagles opened with a tightly contested 4-3 win over OUAZ. After dropping the doubles point, A&M-Texarkana responded with a strong showing in singles, winning four of the six courts to secure the comeback victory.
At No. 1 singles, Ana Gonzalez led the way with a straight-set win, while Lucia Siddens added another dominant performance at No. 4. Andrea Castillo and Adrianne Guangko each earned convincing straight-set victories at No. 5 and No. 6 to clinch the match for the Eagles.
TAMUT closed the day with a 7-0 sweep over the University of Dallas. The Eagles claimed the doubles point with wins from the pairs of Gonzalez / Siddens and Guangko / Castillo.
In singles play, the Eagles swept all six courts. Gonzalez, Siddens, Emmanouela Besi, Castillo, and Guangko each recorded straight-set victories, while the Eagles added another point by default to complete the sweep.
