Women's Tennis Receives Votes in Second Consecutive Poll
TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's tennis program is gaining national recognition for the second consecutive poll, receiving votes in the latest National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Poll. The honor highlights the immediate impact of first-year head coach Brian Nelson, who has elevated the program's competitive profile with a talented and energized roster that is quickly becoming a team to watch on the national stage this spring.
The Eagles hold an impressive 8–1 record this season, with their lone loss coming to nationally ranked Louisiana Christian University (No. 15 ITA / No. 18 NAIA). Prior to the release of the season's second poll, TAMUT capped off a strong homestand with a 5–1 mark, showcasing depth and consistency across the lineup.
Ana Gonzalez delivered a flawless week, posting a combined 6–0 record in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles play. Her dominant performance earned her Red River Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors.
The Eagles now head to Little Rock for a packed two-day stretch against John Brown University, Blue Mountain Christian University, and Rust College as they continue to build momentum early in the spring campaign.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Keiser (Fla.) remained a unanimous No. 1 in the second regular-season edition of the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll, 10 points ahead of No. 2 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), one of five top-five teams that remained unchanged this week.
This week's steadiness comes after considerable shakeup in the first regular-season poll, released on Feb. 11. No teams moved more than two places in this week's poll, and Marian (Ind.) is the only team to enter the top 10, at No. 10, replacing Holy Cross (Ind.), falling to No. 11.
The next women's tennis poll is slated for March 11.

Poll Methodology
- The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national championship consideration.
- A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) votes in the poll.
- The Top 25 teams are selected using a points-based system:
- 30 points for a 1st-place vote, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd, and so on.
- The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
- Teams receiving only one point are not listed as "receiving votes."
- For the Preseason Poll, there is no "previous ranking" column since it is the initial poll and differs from the prior rating system.
