Women's Soccer Opens Year at No. 5 in Conference Poll
WACO, Texas – After finishing strong last year, Xavier received the No. 1 spot in the 2025 RRAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll. The Gold Nuggets entered the RRAC tournament as the No. 3 seed a year ago and claimed the title with a hard-fought victory on penalty kicks over LSU Alexandria in the finale.
Xavier collected nine first-place votes and 140 points to lead the way followed by LSUA in second with one first-place vote and last year's regular season champion, LSU Shreveport, in third with one first-place selection.
Louisiana Christian, Texas A&M-Texarkana and Our Lady of the Lake rounded out the top six teams with TAMUT garnering the last first-place pick.
Texas A&M-San Antonio, Texas A&M-Victoria and Southwest were the next three on the list.
This year's RRAC tournament will be reduced to the top six teams based on regular season standings.
Voting was conducted by the conference's head coaches. Results of the poll are shown below with points calculated through a 14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 format.
