A&M-Texarkana's unbeaten women's soccer squad will have a chance to create a little separation in the conference standings when they hit the road this week. The Eagles (9-0-0 overall, 4-0-0 RRAC) will be in Stafford on Thursday to take on North American (3-4-0, 1-2-0) at 5 pm, then head to New Orleans for a Saturday meeting with second-place Xavier (3-2-0, 3-0-0) at 5 pm.
SERIES HISTORY
vs North American – The Eagles lead the all-time series, 1-0. The only previous meeting took place last season, an 8-1 victory for A&M-Texarkana at Morgan Field.
vs Xavier – This is the first-ever meeting between the schools as Xavier is competing in soccer this season for the first time.
THINGS TO KNOW
A&M-Texarkana – The Eagles have had a player named conference Player of the Week for three consecutive weeks. Most recently, Alyssa Daily received the nod earlier this week following a week during which she scored five goals in one match, and the game-winner in another. The Eagles are outscoring the opposition by a margin of 30-5.
North American – The Mustangs have two high-scoring players in Genevieve Colon (8G, 5A, 21P) and Alejandra Maria Acosta (6G, 5A, 17P). Since opening their RRAC schedule with a win over Paul Quinn, North American has lost to Southwest (4-0) and Xavier (4-1) in consecutive outings. NAU is 2-3-0 at home.
Xavier – Since an 0-2 start, the Gold Nuggets have won three straight – all in conference play –and are 2-1 at home. Luci Schroeder leads the team with 14 points on five goals and four assists, while Amora Altmon is next with four goals and three assists for 11 points. Xavier has outscored its conference opponents by a margin of 18-2.
