It hasn't taken long for freshman Desiree Narvaez to make her presence felt on the A&M-Texarkana women's soccer club. She's also put the Red River Athletic Conference, being named the RRAC Women's Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 4-10.
The forward from Mesquite (Poteet HS) scored the game-winner in the Eagles' 4-2 win at previously unbeaten Bethel (Tenn.) and registered an assist in the match. Narvaez has started all three official matches for the 5-0-0 Eagles (two wins by forfeit) and leads the club with three goals and eight points.
Two of her goals have been game-winners and of her seven shot attempts, six have been on goal for an offense averaging an eye-opening five goals per game. She's scored a goal in all three matches played, including the game-winner during Monday's 2-0 win over Texas Wesleyan.
