Women’s Golf Competes at Inaugural Texarkana Invitational
TEXARKANA, Ark. – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's golf team hosted its inaugural Texarkana Invitational this week at Texarkana Country Club, battling through frigid temperatures on day one to turn in a strong showing on their home course.
Despite the challenging conditions, the Eagles showed resilience throughout the tournament.
Ella Dieter and Liberty Thomson led the way for TAMUT, each carding a 176 (+32) to finish tied for fifth overall. Anna Anglen followed with a 184 (+40), securing a ninth-place finish, while Lainee McMillon rounded out the top 10 with a 186 (+42) to place 10th.
Jalee Sampley added a 12th-place finish with a score of 193 (+49), helping the Eagles maintain a steady presence on the leaderboard from start to finish.
The Eagles' ability to battle through tough weather conditions highlighted their grit and determination in their first-ever home tournament, marking a strong step forward for the program.
