Women's Golf Claims 2nd Place Team Finish at Claud Jacobs Invitational
VICTORIA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's golf team opened its spring season at the Claud Jacobs Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M University–Victoria on February 16–17 at Victoria Country Club.
The tournament featured a competitive NAIA field with four teams represented, including No. 17 Texas Wesleyan. The Eagles delivered a strong performance, finishing second overall at the invitational.
Leading the way for Texas A&M–Texarkana was Liberty Thomson, who carded a +25 to finish 11th overall. Jalee Sampley followed in 12th place at +27. Ella Dieter finished tied for 13th with a +32, while Lainee McMillon placed 15th at +35. Anna Anglen rounded out the Eagles' lineup, competing in the second round only and posting a +27, but did not complete a full tournament slate.
Up next, the Eagles will travel to El Dorado, Arkansas, to compete in the Arkansas Collegiate at Mystic Creek Golf Club on March 9–10.
