Senior Day Success: Women’s Basketball Rolls Past NAU 74–40
TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's basketball team delivered a dominant Senior Day performance, defeating North American University 74–40 Saturday afternoon at the Patterson Student Center.
The Eagles and Stallions were tied 15–15 after the opening quarter, but TAMUT seized control in the second period with a dominant defensive effort, holding North American to just two points while building a 33–17 halftime lead.
TAMUT continued to extend its advantage in the second half, shooting over 57 percent in the third quarter and closing the game with a 24-point fourth quarter to secure the decisive victory. The Eagles forced 29 turnovers and converted them into 30 points, while also holding a commanding 42–20 edge in points in the paint.
Chi'onne Dailey led the Eagles with 16 points and seven assists in an outstanding all-around performance. Breyionce George recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Maiya Petit added eight points and Unique McBride chipped in six off the bench.
Defensively, TAMUT was relentless, tallying 21 steals and limiting North American to just 26.8 percent shooting from the field.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 18–8 overall and 16–4 in conference play.
The Eagles celebrated their seniors in a pregame ceremony honoring their dedication and impact on the program.
