Women’s Basketball Rolls Past UNT Dallas, 74–45
CEDAR HILL, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's basketball team delivered a dominant road performance Saturday afternoon, rolling past UNT Dallas 74–45 behind a complete team effort on both ends of the floor.
A&M-Texarkana set the tone early and never looked back, building a 35–19 halftime lead and continuing to apply pressure throughout the second half. The Eagles outscored the Trailblazers in every quarter and led by as many as 29 points in the fourth.
Defense fueled the victory, as TAMUT forced a staggering 41 UNT Dallas turnovers, converting them into 40 points off turnovers. The Eagles also thrived in transition, holding a 20–4 advantage in fastbreak points, while controlling the paint with 36 points inside.
Four Eagles reached double figures, led by Breyionce George, who scored 13 points on efficient shooting. Chi'onne Dailey added 11 points, while Eleionna Brown and Maiya Petit combined for 18 points off the bench. TAMUT's reserves accounted for 37 bench points, highlighting the team's depth.
The Eagles finished the game shooting 36.1 percent from the field and went 28-for-44 at the free-throw line, consistently capitalizing on UNT Dallas miscues.
With the victory, women's basketball improves to 16–7 overall and 14–3 in RRAC play, continuing their push toward the top of the conference standings.
The Eagles return to action on Thursday, February 12 against Xavier, with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. The women's basketball contest will serve as the team's Breast Cancer Awareness Game, honoring survivors, fighters, and those lost during a special halftime recognition.
