TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's basketball team earned a solid home victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Louisiana Christian 74–62 at the Patterson Student Center.
The Eagles set the tone early, building a first-half lead behind balanced scoring and strong defensive pressure. TAMUT led 34–23 at the break and matched the Wildcats point-for-point in the second half to secure the win.
Imani Rothschild paced the Eagles with 14 points, while Chioma Treasure Emeh added 13 points and a team-high eight steals, tying the program single game record, to go along with five assists. Chi'onne Dailey chipped in 11 points, and the Eagles received valuable production off the bench, outscoring Louisiana Christian 29–17.
A&M–Texarkana capitalized on turnovers all afternoon, scoring 36 points off Louisiana Christian miscues, and controlled the tempo down the stretch to keep the Wildcats at bay.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 13–7 overall and 12–3 in conference play.
The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday, February 3rd, hosting Wiley University at the Patterson Student Center. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
