Petit Powers Her Way to RRAC Offensive Player of the Week
WACO, Texas (Dec. 1, 2025) – The fifth set of RRAC Women's Hoops Player of the Week awards features Texas A&M-Texarkana's Maiya Petit as the Offensive Player of the Week and LSU Alexandria's Reese Stephens as the Defensive Player of the Week for the dates of Nov. 24-30.
RRAC Offensive Player of the Week – Maiya Petit – Texas A&M-Texarkana
Junior guard Maiya Petit scored a game-high and career-best 21 points in the Eagles' first win of the 2025-2026 season over Philander Smith (Ark.). She shot 50 percent from both the field and beyond the arc. She also added four rebounds, two assists, three steals, and a block. Petit is fourth on her team with 38 points in the season for an average of 7.6 points per game.
The Eagles are 1-5 overall and 0-1 in conference.

RRAC Defensive Player of the Week – Reese Stephens – LSU Alexandria
Sophomore guard Reese Stephens led LSUA with a career-high six steals in the team's 81-70 win over Louisiana Christian. She added five points, four rebounds, and four assists. Stephens is her team's leader with 22 assists and 13 steals in the season.
The Generals are 2-4 overall and 1-0 in conference.

RRAC Notebook:
- LSUA's Princis Goff led her team in scoring in her return to H.O. West Fieldhouse in the Generals' win over LCU. She tallied 16 points, with 5-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-6 threes and 4-of-5 free throws.
- Eleionna Brown, a junior forward from TAMUT, was a force for the Eagles in their win over Philander Smith. She was the second leading scorer for the Eagles with 16 points, but also snagged 14 rebounds, earning herself her first double-double of the season.
