Emeh Earns RRAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors Following Season-Opening Performances
WACO, Texas (Nov. 3, 2025) – The RRAC opens the 2025-26 season with the first RRAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week awards. Selma Markisic from LSU Shreveport is this week's Hoops Offensive Player of the Week, and Chioma Treasure Emeh from Texas A&M-Texarkana is Hoops Defensive Player of the Week for the dates of Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
RRAC Offensive Player of the Week – Selma Markisic – LSU Shreveport
Graduate student Selma Markisic led her team to a 94-69 victory over Wiley (Texas). She scored 27 points, which included 8-of-16 from the field, 4-of-9 from three and 7-of-9 free throws. The guard from Brooklyn, N.Y., added five rebounds, two assists and four steals. The Pilots are 2-0 on the season and will play next at Southern University at New Orleans on Nov. 7.

RRAC Defensive Player of the Week – Chioma Treasure Emeh – Texas A&M University – Texarkana
Senior forward Chioma Treasure Emeh was a dominant defensive force for the Eagles this week, averaging 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game while also contributing 12.0 points and two assists across two starts. Emeh recorded six rebounds, six steals and 16 points against Texas Wesleyan before posting nine rebounds, eight points and three steals versus Oklahoma Wesleyan.
The Eagles are 0-2 so far this season; their next game is on Nov. 8 against Stephen F. Austin.

RRAC Notebook:
- Lauren Pete from UNTD delivered a top-scoring performance for her personally as she opened her sophomore season with the Trailblazers. She logged 14 points, seven rebounds - three offensively, and swiped two steals.
- NAU's Aliyah Solis scored 11 points against College of Biblical Studies. She made 4-of-7 from the field, including one three and two free throws. Solis added four assists and two steals.
- Shayla Dede from OLLU contributed 10 points against Southwestern Christian and 17 against Nelson. Dede made 4-of-7 from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range.
- TAMUT's Breyionce George delivered a strong all-around performance for the Eagles this week, averaging 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game over two contests. George posted 15 points and four rebounds in the road win against Oklahoma Wesleyan, following up a six-point, four-rebound outing at Texas Wesleyan to open the season. Beyond her offensive consistency, she made her presence felt on the defensive end, tallying three steals and a block across the two games.
- LSUA's Sydney Person led her team in scoring in both games, recording 20 points in her LSUA debut against Oklahoma Wesleyan, adding 19 against Texas Wesleyan.
- De'Asia Johnson from UNTD led the Trailblazers in their first game of the regular season. Johnson notched 15 points, four rebounds and three steals.
- NAU's Jerkayla Dickey added 10 points and nine rebounds against College of Biblical Studies. She added five steals in the 83-39 win.
- Paula Gonzalez Herrero from LSUS tallied 12 rebounds, nine on defense, while adding four steals and scoring 20 points. She led her team to a 94-69 win over Wiley.
- LSUA's Pincis Goff led her team with six blocks and two steals. She scored 15 points against Oklahoma Wesleyan and Texas Wesleyan.
