Williams earns RRAC Player of the Week Award for second consecutive week

WACO, Texas — Kayla Williams of Texas A&M University-Texarkana was recognized as the RRAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her play over the dates of Jan. 29-Feb. 4. This is the 14th award of the 2023-24 women's basketball season.
Williams registered three double-double performances in a 2-1 week for the Eagles. The junior forward from San Diego racked up 33 points and 13 rebounds to lift TAMUT to a 75-71 victory over Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). She also had 13 points and 12 boards in a loss to conference leader LSU Shreveport (La.). For the week, Williams was 24-of-42 from the field and 7-of-14 from behind the three-point arc. She is second in the conference in rebounding with 10.5 per game. The Eagles improved to 8-7 in RRAC play and 11-10 on the season.
