Softball Lands Nine on RRAC All-Conference Teams
TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana softball team placed nine student-athletes on the Red River Athletic Conference All-Conference teams following an outstanding regular season. The Eagles enter the RRAC Championship as the No. 3 seed with a 34–12 overall record (21–5 RRAC). TAMUT earned three First Team selections, four Second Team selections, one Honorable Mention, and one Champions of Character honoree.
First Team All-Conference
Senior catcher Skyler Martin headlines the First Team selections. In 31 appearances, Martin recorded 21 hits, 23 RBIs, and 18 runs in 74 at-bats (.284 AVG). She was a defensive anchor behind the plate, ranking 14th nationally and 8th in the RRAC in runners caught stealing, while leading the nation in caught stealing percentage at 43.8%. She also posted a .994 fielding percentage.
Junior outfielder Mackenzie Williams earns First Team honors after a standout offensive season. In 41 games, Williams tallied 57 hits, 38 runs, and 18 RBIs in 118 at-bats (.483 AVG). She is tied for 13th nationally in batting average and leads the RRAC in the category. Williams also swiped 17 bases at an 85% success rate and posted a .967 fielding percentage.
Senior pitcher Rylee Glenn rounds out the First Team selections. Appearing in 25 games with 19 starts, Glenn ranks third in the RRAC in ERA (1.92), second in strikeouts (105), and fourth in wins (13), continuing her role as one of the league's top arms.
Second Team All-Conference
Sophomore shortstop Jaquelyn Schmidt earned Second Team recognition after hitting .388 with 38 hits, 24 RBIs, and 27 runs in 98 at-bats over 36 games. Defensively, she committed just two errors, posting a .984 fielding percentage and ranking among the top defensive shortstops nationally.
Senior outfielder Grace Cantu adds Second Team honors after appearing in 40 games. She finished with 41 hits, 41 RBIs, and 29 runs in 118 at-bats (.347 AVG), ranking second in the RRAC in RBIs. Cantu also posted a .979 fielding percentage and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in conference play.
Senior outfielder Madison Ruiz contributed 36 hits, 32 RBIs, and 22 runs in 108 at-bats across 38 games. She connected for five home runs, tied for second in the conference, while holding a .973 fielding percentage.
Sophomore utility player Victoria Clayton completes the Second Team group. In 40 games, Clayton hit .419 with 49 hits, 20 RBIs, and 19 runs in 117 at-bats, ranking fifth in the RRAC in batting average. She also posted a .974 fielding percentage.
Honorable Mention
Senior pitcher Alexis Snyder earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. In 20 appearances (18 starts), Snyder recorded three complete games, one shutout, and a perfect game. She finished with a 3.16 ERA, ranking eighth in the RRAC, along with five wins (5th in conference) and 53 strikeouts (11th).
Champions of Character
Junior Brooke Usrey was named to the RRAC Champions of Character Team, which recognizes student-athletes who exemplify integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
