Building on Momentum: Softball Releases 2026 Schedule
TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana softball program has announced its official schedule for the 2026 season, highlighted by a competitive slate of Red River Athletic Conference matchups, nonconference contests, and key home dates at Bramlett Field at Spring Lake Park.
The Eagles will open the season February 7–8, traveling to Mesquite, Texas, to compete in the NAIA Softball Invitational, before returning home for their home opener on February 14 against Williams Baptist. The home schedule features 27 games, giving fans multiple opportunities to catch the Eagles in action throughout the spring.
The 2025 campaign marked one of the most successful seasons in program history for TAMUT Softball, as the Eagles posted a 41–12 overall record (24–4 RRAC), earned three NAIA Top 25 rankings throughout the season, and made the deepest run at the NAIA National Tournament in program history, advancing to the Opening Round Finals. The historic season set a new standard for the program and created strong momentum heading into 2026.
With key contributors returning to the lineup and several new faces expected to make an immediate impact, the Eagles enter the 2026 season focused on building upon that success and continuing the program's upward trajectory.
Conference play begins on February 20, with TAMUT set to face familiar RRAC opponents including Texas A&M–Victoria, Our Lady of the Lake, and LSU Alexandria. A must-see home conference series highlights the schedule when the Eagles host Our Lady of the Lake on April 10–11. TAMUT will also be tested in nonconference action against NCAA Division II opponents Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State.
The nonconference portion of the schedule is largely comprised of two early-season tournaments—the NAIA Softball Invitational and the Gulf Shores Invitational—providing valuable challenges and growth opportunities prior to league play.
The Eagles will celebrate Senior Day on April 25, honoring their seniors prior to their final home series of the season against the University of the Southwest.
Postseason play begins with the RRAC Championship, scheduled for April 30–May 3, followed by the NAIA National Championship Opening Round beginning May 11, with the goal of advancing to Columbus, Georgia, for the NAIA Softball World Series.
All home games will be played at Bramlett Field at Spring Lake Park. Fans can find the complete schedule and season updates at tamuteagles.com or by following @TAMUT_Athletics on social media.
