Wagner and Brannan Claim RRAC Runner of the Week Honors
WACO, Texas – RRAC cross country awards were announced the week of September 22-28 with Levi Wagner of Texas A&M University-Texarkana earning the Men Cross Country Runner of the Week honor, while TAMUT's Zalenka Brannan was recognized as the Women's Runner of the Week for the same dates.
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Levi Wagner, Texas A&M-Texarkana
Levi Wagner was crowned as the overall champion in the men's 8k with an individual time of 27:23:57 at the Topper Trails College Classic on Saturday. He helped lead the Eagles to their second place team finish in Blue Mountain, Miss.
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Zalenka Brannan, Texas A&M-Texarkana
Zalenka earned the best result for the Eagles on the weekend with a third-place finish at the Topper Trails College Classic with an individual time of 19:52:94 in the 5k distance in a field of 54 runners. The junior supported the Eagles to second place in the team standings at Blue Mountain Christian College (Miss.).
RRAC Cross Country Notes:
North American's Tyler Johns crossed the finish line with a time of 29:45.53, setting a new school record and marking a personal best in the 8K distance.
NAU's Samantha Medina to a time of 22:20.97 on the 5K course with a time of 22:20.97. Medina finished 16th in a field of 35 runners and set a school record in the process.
