Dorsett wins silver in Kansas, qualifies for second event at nationals

PITTSBURG, Kansas — Charles Dorsett III finished second in the Men's 600 Yards event at Saturday's Pittsburg State Invitational, giving the senior a qualifying mark in a second event for the upcoming NAIA Indoor Championships next month.
Dorsett qualified in the 800 Meters just two weeks prior but clocked a time of 1:10.16 on Saturday to ensure he would be competing in both events at the NAIA meet. He wasn't far from winning the event in Kansas, finishing only behind Terrick Johnson of Indian Hills CC, who set a meet record with a time of 1:09.50.
Zalenka Brannan finished 13th in the Women's 600 Yards, Shea Johnson was 40th in the Men's 800 Meters, Minan Magassa was 32nd in the Women's 800 Meters, and Daniela Hernandez was 23rd in the Women's 3000 Meters.
