Eagles sweep RRAC Cross Country awards for third time this season

WACO, Texas — For the third time this season and second consecutive week, A&M-Texarkana swept the conference Runner of the Week awards, announced Wednesday by the Red River Athletic Conference.
Christopher Korir picked up the Men's Runner of the Week for the second straight week, while Minankolo Magassa won her second Women's Runner of the Week award after also winning in early October.
Korir finished eighth overall for the Eagle men last weekend at the Southwestern College Mid-States Classic in Kansas. The junior from Kenya helped the Eagles to a third-place team finish and posted a time of 26:43 in the men's 8K race, consisting of 82 runners.
Magassa came in seventh in the women's 6K with a time of 23:49, ahead of most of the field of 73 runners. She led the Eagle ladies to a third-place team finish as well.
