Eagles run with major programs during prestigious meet at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Competing against a field of teams consisting largely of Power 5 and NCAA Division I schools, A&M-Texarkana tested its strength Saturday at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M University. The men's team finished 38th out of 39 teams on the 8k course, while the women finished 41st out of 42 programs on a 6k course.
Tulane, Indiana, and Incarnate Word were the Top 3 finishers on the men's side, while Utah Valley, UCLA, and Boston College finished as the Top 3 in the women's team standings.
Christopher Korir earned the top spot for the Eagles finishing 209 out of 365 runners and clocking a time of 25:28.4, while David Hernandez and Shea Johnson were second and third for the Eagles.
On the women's side, Ana Ximena Loya finished 358 out of 397 runners with a time of 24:12.7, with Daniela Hernandez and Zalenka Brannan finishing second and third for the ladies.
