Men’s Track & Field Shows Depth at Ole Miss Classic
OXFORD, Miss. – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's outdoor track & field team delivered a strong performance against a highly competitive field at the Ole Miss Classic, highlighted by event wins, podium finishes, and multiple personal bests competing against programs from NCAA Division I through the NAIA.
The Eagles were led by Jayden Erikewe, who captured the 400-meter hurdles title with a time of 53.27, earning a NAIA National Qualifying B standard. Erikewe also ran a leg on the 4x100-meter relay team that placed fifth overall in 41.81, alongside Giovani Jean-Pierre, Jeffrey Legrand, and Desory Jordan.
Jordan turned in an impressive sprint performance, placing second in the 200 meters with a time of 21.40 and adding a sixth-place finish in the 100 meters (10.51). Legrand also had a strong showing, placing ninth in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 21.73 and 14th in the 100 (10.73). Glenn Parker recorded a personal best in the 200 (22.48) and added another in the 400 meters (50.73).
Jean-Pierre highlighted the quarter-mile group with a fifth-place finish and personal-best time of 48.73 in the 400 meters.
In the field events, Darlington Onsarigo led the way with a seventh-place finish in the triple jump (14.32m), while Wynell Winkfield placed 10th (13.94m) and also added a 16th-place finish in the long jump (6.34m). Dexter Lockett recorded a top-10 finish in the long jump, placing 10th with a mark of 6.53 meters.
Maurice Williams paced the throws group with an eighth-place finish in the discus (42.02m) and added a 12th-place mark in the shot put (13.47m) along with a 13th-place finish in the hammer throw (41.02m). Kolton Lybrand and Dorian Pruitt also contributed across the throwing events, while Durrel Darden competed in the hammer.
On the distance side, Chapman White posted a personal best in the 1500 meters (4:16.58) and added a 14th-place finish in the 3000 meters (9:29.38). Graycen Vargo and Chris Avila also competed in the 3000, with Avila adding a mark in the 1500.

The Eagles will look to carry that momentum into their next meet as the outdoor season continues, traveling to Nacogdoches, Texas to compete in the Carl Knight Multis/Invite on April 2–3.
