14 Eagles Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors; Both Tennis Teams Named All-Academic
TEXARKANA, Texas – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2026 ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams, recognizing outstanding academic achievement from student-athletes and programs across the nation.
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be listed on the team's institutional eligibility certificate.
Teams receiving ITA All-Academic Team recognition must post a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, all student-athletes listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners must be included in the team's GPA calculation for the academic year.
Texas A&M University–Texarkana celebrated impressive success in the classroom, with seven men's tennis student-athletes and seven women's tennis student-athletes earning ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition. Both the Eagles' men's and women's programs also received ITA All-Academic Team honors, highlighting the continued commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic achievement.
