Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at RRAC Championships to Close Inaugural Season
HOBBS, N.M. — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's golf team competed at the Red River Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by University of the Southwest in Hobbs, over a three-day stint the teams played three rounds tallying 54-holes in total.
The Eagles finished tied for fourth place out of six conference teams with a three-round total of 942 (+78). TAMUT showed steady improvement throughout the tournament, posting their lowest team score in the final round.
Leading the way for the Eagles was Rylen Caldwell, who placed fourth overall with a 226 (+10). Caldwell carded rounds of 77 (+5), 75 (+3), and 74 (+2), highlighted by two eagles and four birdies across the tournament.
Jax Stovall turned in a strong final round to finish tied for 12th at 235 (+19). After opening rounds of 82 (+10) and 80 (+8), Stovall fired a 73 (+1) on day three, recording one eagle and five birdies.
JJ Walsh placed 20th overall with a 241 (+25), posting rounds of 82 (+10), 85 (+13), and 74 (+2). Walsh totaled one eagle and a team-high seven birdies during the championship.
Ishraaq Anis finished 27th at 249 (+33), rebounding with a final-round 74 (+2) after rounds of 83 (+11) and 92 (+20). He recorded one eagle and three birdies.
Ayden Haskins rounded out the Eagles lineup, tying for 28th with a 250 (+34). Haskins posted rounds of 86 (+14), 83 (+11), and 81 (+9), adding two birdies.
The Eagles conclude their season following their appearance at the RRAC Championships.
