Men’s Golf Challenges Deep Field at Arkansas Collegiate
EL DORADO, Ark.- Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's golf competed this week at the Arkansas Collegiate, held Monday and Tuesday at Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas, facing a strong 15-team field that featured multiple top-50 programs in the nation.
The Eagles battled through three rounds of competition to finish 14th overall, gaining valuable experience against one of the toughest fields they've seen this season.
Leading the way for TAMUT was Ishraaq Anis, who paced the Eagles with a three-round total of 240 (+24) to finish 27th overall. Rylen Caldwell followed closely behind, carding a 242 (+26) to place 35th.
JJ Walsh added a score of 246 (+30) to finish 49th, while Jax Stovall turned in a 253 (+37) for 66th. Halston Baca rounded out the lineup with a 266 (+50), placing 75th.
As a team, the Eagles showed steady flashes throughout the tournament, recording five birdies in round one, six in round two, and four more in the final round.
TAMUT will look to build on the experience gained this week as they continue their spring season.
