Anis Leads Men's Golf to Third Place Finish at the Wildcat Invitational
ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Texas A&M University-Texarkana men's golf team wrapped up their fall season this week, competing Monday and Tuesday at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Louisiana Christian University.
The Eagles turned in a strong performance, finishing 3rd overall and placing ahead of RRAC opponents TAMUSA, Louisiana Christian, and Jarvis Christian with a team score of 864 (E).
Ishraaq Anis led the way for the Eagles, finishing 3rd individually and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team—becoming the first player in program history to achieve that honor. Anis shot rounds of 68, 71, and 73 for a final score of 212 (-4), which included an eagle on hole 15 during the opening round.
Rylen Caldwell followed closely behind, tying for 8th place with rounds of 71, 76, and 70 for a total score of 217 (+1), finishing under par in two of his three rounds.
Junior Power carded rounds of 71, 72, and 76 to finish at 219 (+3) and tied for 11th place.
JJ Walsh tied for 24th with a total of 226 (+10), while Jax Stovall rounded out the lineup, tying for 28th at 228 (+12).
The Eagles now conclude their fall slate and will return to action in the Spring, as Red River Athletic Conference play gets underway.
