Williams Named to Inaugural NABC NAIA All-Region South Team
TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's basketball standout Deovaunta Williams has been named to the inaugural NABC NAIA All-Region South Team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Thursday.
The honor places Williams among 15 of the top players in the South Region and marks a historic milestone as part of the first-ever NABC NAIA All-Region selections. With the recognition, Williams is also a finalist for the NABC NAIA All-America Team.
Williams capped off an outstanding 2025-26 season as one of the Eagles' most impactful players on both ends of the floor. He appeared in 30 games with 29 starts, totaling 881 minutes and leading the team with 481 points. He shot 38.8 percent from the field, including 58 made three-pointers, while adding 77 free throws at a 77.0 percent clip.
On the defensive end, Williams etched his name into the program record books, setting the Texas A&M University–Texarkana single-season steals record with 68. His relentless effort and ability to disrupt opposing offenses were a defining part of the Eagles' identity throughout the season.
In addition to his scoring and defensive prowess, Williams contributed across the board with 134 total rebounds, 77 assists, and 10 blocks, showcasing his versatility and leadership.
Williams' All-Region selection underscores his dominance throughout the season and caps off his collegiate career in dominant fashion, leaving a lasting impact on the Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's basketball program.
