Houston Earns RRAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors
WACO, Texas (Jan. 5, 2026) – The first RRAC Men's Hoops Players of the Week awards for 2026 have been announced. Capturing the ninth set of awards are No. 25 LSU Shreveport's Hayden Brittingham for Offensive Player of the Week and Texas A&M-Texarkana's Daryl Houston for Defensive Player of the Week for the dates Dec. 31-Jan. 4.
RRAC Offensive Player of the Week – Hayden Brittingham – No. 25 LSU Shreveport
Senior forward Hayden Brittingham was the leader for the Pilots in their 99-81 victory over Texas A&M-Texarkana. He accounted for 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. He connected on 9-of-12 field goals and 7-of-10 free throws.
Brittingham is third in conference with 236 points and fifth in points per game at 16.9. He is also second with 135 rebounds. Brittingham has won player of the week honors three other weeks – one for offense and two for defense for a total of four.
The Pilots are ranked No. 25 in the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll. They are 11-3 overall and 8-0 in the conference.

RRAC Defensive Player of the Week – Daryl Houston – Texas A&M-Texarkana
Senior guard Daryl Houston recorded two double-doubles last week, with 13 points and 12 boards in the team's 90-67 win over Philander Smith (Ark.) and 16 points and 10 boards in the team's 99-81 loss to LSUS. Houston also produced six steals over the two games.
Houston is second in the conference with 48 offensive rebounds and fifth with 101 total rebounds. In addition, he is second with 27 steals.
The Eagles are third in the RRAC with an overall record of 6-2 and a conference record of 9-4.
