TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University-Texarkana men's basketball team extended its win streak to five games with a 76-55 victory over Arkansas Baptist College in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night at the Patterson Student Center.
The Eagles' bench provided a key spark, contributing 41 points compared to the Buffaloes' 15.
A&M-Texarkana got off to a hot start, shooting 55.9% from the field and 43.8% from three-point range in the first half, building a 47-24 lead at halftime. Justin Davis led the early charge, scoring all 10 of his points in the first half on 4-of-7 shooting, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.
The Eagles cooled off in the second half, shooting just 37.5% from the field and 25% from three-point range. Arkansas Baptist outscored A&M-Texarkana 31-29 after halftime, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
Jakari Livingston paced the Eagles with 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Doreante Tucker added 12 points, while Davis finished with 10 points and a season-high five steals.
A&M-Texarkana returns to action Saturday, Feb. 15, hosting Jarvis Christian in its final home game of the season. Prior to the 3 p.m. tipoff at the Patterson Student Center, the Eagles will honor their two seniors in a special ceremony.
