TYLER, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana men's basketball secured a 68-62 road win over Texas College on Saturday, improving to 14-8 overall and 12-7 in conference play.
The Eagles started strong, shooting 60.9% from the field and 50% from three-point range in the first half to build a 34-26 lead at the break. TAMUT extended its advantage to 13 points with just under 13 minutes remaining, but the Steers fought back to close the gap. The Eagles maintained their composure down the stretch to secure the victory.
Daryl Houston led the way with a double-double, recording 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jakari Livingston added 11 points, while Doreante Tucker chipped in 10. TAMUT shot an impressive 63.6% from the field and dominated inside with 38 points in the paint.
The Eagles return home Thursday, Feb. 6, to host the Gold Rush of Xavier in a primetime doubleheader. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the women's game.
