Esports Earns Three All-Conference Honors; Cartagena Named Champion of Character
TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana esports program earned recognition from the SUN Conference with three All-Conference selections across multiple titles, highlighted by a specialty award honoring excellence in character.
Emmanuel Cartagena and Williams Nguyen were named All-Conference in Overwatch 2, while Jonathan Anthony Galdamez earned All-Conference honors in Rocket League. Cartagena was also awarded the SUN Conference Champion of Character Award, recognizing his embodiment of the NAIA's core values.
Cartagena's impact extended beyond competition, as he demonstrated leadership and integrity throughout the season. His recognition as Champion of Character reflects his commitment to sportsmanship, responsibility, and servant leadership.
Nguyen played a key role in the Eagles' Overwatch 2 lineup, contributing to the team's success during conference play.
