Bio
Coach Rios enters his first season as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Texas A&M University–Texarkana, joining Head Coach Chase Brewster’s staff. He works primarily with the Eagles’ outfielders, serves as the team’s first base coach, and assists with infield and hitting development. In addition, he contributes to the program’s Strength and Conditioning efforts and plays an active role in recruiting.
Rios began his playing career at El Paso Community College before transferring to A&M–Texarkana in 2022. As a junior, he earned Red River Athletic Conference Second Team All-Conference honors after hitting .342 with three home runs, 20 RBIs, and 25 runs scored. In his senior season, he was recognized as the 2025 RRAC Etier Character Athlete of the Year, an award that highlights his leadership and commitment both on and off the field.
Following graduation, Rios began his coaching career with the Texarkana Rhinos of the Mid-America League. Serving as an assistant under Head Coach Jack Skinner, he helped guide the Rhinos to their first playoff appearance in only the franchise’s second season.
A standout student-athlete, Rios excelled in the classroom and in campus leadership roles. He was actively involved in the Student Government Association, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (Vice President), Accounting Club, Eagle Aspire, and the Eagle Ambassador Program. He was a two-time Scott Bruner Leadership Award nominee and was named 2025 Accounting Student of the Year. Rios graduated from A&M–Texarkana with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting (3.9 GPA) and is currently pursuing his MBA in Management.
