TEXARKANA, Texas- Texas A&M University-Texarkana Baseball hosted the John Melvin University Millers in a competitive baseball matchup on Tuesday at George Dobson Field. Despite a strong showing, the Eagles fell just short, losing the game 12-10. The contest remained close throughout, with both teams exchanging big hits and tense moments, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
The Millers came out swinging, establishing an early lead in the top of the first inning with several timely hits. Although the Eagles showed resilience, repeatedly narrowing the gap and keeping the pressure on, they were unable to fully close the deficit. Their last push came in the bottom of the ninth, when they rallied but ultimately fell two runs shy of a comeback.
Several Eagles stood out with impressive individual performances. James Provencio led the offense, going 3-for-5 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Freddie Madera also contributed with a 3-for-4 outing, and Joey Spence added two RBIs with a 2-for-4 performance. On the pitching side, Camden Gamble and Anthony Galindo each turned in strong efforts, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings apiece. Despite the loss, the Eagles showed the determination and grit throughout the game that will be needed as they prepare for the Red River Athletic Conference tournament next week.
