LCU rallies again to top Eagles in RRAC Championship final

STERLINGTON, Louisiana — Late inning rallies got the better of the A&M-Texarkana Baseball team on consecutive days, leading to a disappointing loss in the finals at the RRAC Baseball Championship, the second loss coming Monday in a 9-7 score against Louisiana Christian.
The Eagles (25-26) let the first opportunity to clinch the title slip away Sunday, then had a 7-5 after seven innings today before LCU rallied for four runs in the eighth, then closed the door on the Eagle bats for the final six outs.
Dylan Cabral went 6.2 innings, striking out nine but giving up eight hits and five earned runs. Hunter Reid hit his fourth home run of the tournament, added a double and finished with four RBIs. Jonathan Rios finished with three hits, including a triple. Dakota Leopold and Jarren Lewis each had two hits.
Nathan Hunter took the loss, throwing an inning of relief and giving up two hits, two earned runs and a home run. Dustin Niles pitched a scoreless ninth for the Eagles.
