A&M-Texarkana took a short break from its conference schedule to host Wiley University on Tuesday afternoon, and the Eagles treated their guests to a 15-3 defeat at Dobson Field, putting an end to a four-game skid.
The Eagles (7-12) made a statement early with a seven-run first inning, highlighted by a two-run single by Hunter Reid and a two-run double by Brandon Riley. Riley would later single a run home in the second to make it 8-0 and Reid hit a solo homer – his fifth of the year – to make it 11-0 in the third.
Riley (2-for-2) and Reid (3-for-3) each drove in three tuns, Julian Macias collected three hits and 10 different players would plate at least one run. The Eagles totaled 10 hits and scored in all but the sixth inning.
Dylan Cabral threw four scoreless innings of one-hit ball and improved to 3-3 on the hill with three strikeouts to nail down the win. Liam Neely, Johnny Young and Dustin Niles each threw an inning of relief.
